The International Entertainment Buyers Association (IEBA), the leading trade group for live-entertainment-industry professionals, named the Fox Theatre its 2017 theater of the year.

This is the first time the Fox has won the award, chosen by agents, promoters and venue staffs. Winners were named in 17 categories, covering clubs, casinos, arenas, amphitheaters, fairs, festivals and individuals.

Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado, the State Fair of Texas and Milwaukee’s Summerfest festival took other top others. For a complete list of winners and nominees, go HERE.

Six other venues were considered for theater of the year: the Apollo and the Beacon in New York City; the Bellco in Denver; the Chicago in Chicago; and the Novo and the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles.

The Fox Theatre, its spokesmen say, attracts more than 500,000 visitors per year. They come for everything from Broadway shows, ballet, rock concerts, comedy and movies, to wedding receptions, trade shows, corporate meetings and association functions.
