Harvest time has arrived in the North Georgia mountains, which means fall colors, mountain music, barbecue smoke and fermenting wine. It also means SWine Wine Weekends begin at Three Sisters Vineyards, running Sept. 17-Oct. 30.

swine wineThe Dahlonega winery celebrates with seven weekends of live music, barbecue eating and wine tasting. It’s where the “cork meets the pork,” with tastings of Three Sisters’ Fat Boy wines. Admission is free. (11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays, 12:30-5 p.m. Sundays). Food, wine and Georgia beer are extra.

Pitmasters Dale Thornton of South 40 Smokehouse and Joseph Martin of AngelFire7 BBQ will tend to your dining needs as will such food trucks as Atlanta’s Mac the Cheese and Scratch Cuisine. Look for live jazz, folk and Americana on the Crush Pad Deck or at the Rustic Barn.
