Who is Neil, you might ask? To which we’d say, good question!

He’s the namesake of a new lecture series launching at noon May 17 at the Woodruff Arts Center. The first conversation will focus on how the arts and business intersect. It will feature Donald Runnicles, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s principal guest conductor, and Philip L. Kent, Turner Broadcasting System CEO. Evans Mirageas, ASO vice president for artistic planning, moderates.

The series honors the memory of L. Neil Williams Jr., an Atlanta attorney, civic leader and arts patron, who died in 2012. Williams chaired both the Woodruff and ASO boards at one time and was national president of the League of American Orchestras. His widow, Sue Williams, created the series.

“Neil Asks” will repeat every six months at a new venue with a new topic and panelistsEach lecture in the series will be videotaped and available online.

The May 17 event is in the Woodruff’s Circle Room, on the third floor of the Midtown arts center. Tickets are $25 and include lunch. Seating is limited. Details, tickets at 404.733.4894 or HERE.
