Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education has been awarded Fulton County Schools’ Prestigious Partner Award by Parklane Elementary for their Centre Dance program, currently in its 11th year. Centre Dance, which has grown from a simple before and after-school program, integrates dance classes into the standard academic curriculum. This approach provides an alternative learning environment to encourage students’ self-expression and social awareness, while enriching each school day.
The Prestigious Partner Award is the highest award for partnership given by the school system, and requires a recommendation from the school, an application from the partner, and an interview with the partner and school representatives. Prestigious Partners are organizations that have made a unique and lasting impact on the school, are an active part of the school community, and have a deep interest in the success of the school.
